Why music will always be free, no matter what record companies say…
Its true. Why? Music is heard with our ears. It’s as simple as that. Apple and Microsoft are spending millions of dollars supporting this DRM madness so we can legally download music and pay hard working artists right? Wrong. If it can be heard with our ears, it can be stolen with one cable in the headphone port. I don’t care if you allow one download of the song, and only allow people to play it once. IT WILL STILL BE STOLEN! Sure they wont be able to copy it at full quality and you can make any argument you want there, but seriously its music i remember when i played my first mp3 ever. Quality doesn’t always matter digitally, if the song is good, you’ll listen to it in any quality right? Don’t we still have the FM radio?? Jesus… All this can be said for videos and the movie industry. Even when pay-per-view came out there were people stealing it with a VCR and a coaxial cable. I’m not trying to talk crap about DRM, or any particular record company or anything like that. I just think that being a programmer, and someone that creates something that i mean to profit off of, i too do not want my end creative result stolen. We live in a messed up world, and its time for our creative talent to start thinking about these kinds of things.
Maybe you too should think about it.
