Installing Diablo on GP2X

First of all i just have to say that i love all of the Diablo series from Blizzard and I am in no way promoting the pirating of such a great series of games. However, it has been rather infuriating waiting on Blizzard to make a damn updated console version of Diablo. Now i have heard that they have canceled Diablo 3. That is the Last straw.

Now lets get started, in order to put Diablo on your GP2X portable video game console your going to need 3 things. First is the GP2X obviously… Second is a PSX (or PlayStation) emulator…And finally you’ll need an ISO image or a BIN image of the Diablo PlayStation disc.

  • Download the best PlayStation emulator for the GP2x here its called PSX4GP2X.
  • Get BitLord bit-torrent client if you don’t have the PlayStation ISO or BIN file of Diablo. You can download it with that. And you can find it at Download.com (Thats what you get Blizzard release Diablo for a Console! ANY CONSOLE I DON’T CARE!) Download BitLord here
  • Connect your GP2X in USB mode to your PC, transfer over the PSX4GP2X folder to the root directory.
  • in the Games folder on your GP2X copy over the Diablo ISO.

The reason why i used a GP2X, is because even though the PSP can emulate PlayStation VERY WELL, the GP2X can still emulate more systems and more platforms than any hand-held device known to man. See what happens when you take care of home-brew developers? You get Home developed goodness.

These are the optimal settings for Diablo and PSX4GP2X

  1. TURN RAM-HACKS OFF, it doesn’t work well with it so leave it off.
  2. Don’t set your CPU speed higher than 250 mhz.
  3. Set frame-skip to 2/3. (You can play with this setting more, but i have found this setting comfortable.)
  4. Turn off sound for even more increased speed (not necessary)

Well i hoped this help you get your Diablo fix. I recommend getting a GP2X if you don’t already have one. It’s by far the most flexible and widely developed console there is. If you liked this article check out the rest of the site, plenty of interesting stuff.

My IPOD just froze today, but i fixed it, and here is how.

I was listening to music, browsing threw songs jamming like a mofo….When all of a sudden BLAM! My ipod freezes, and i can no longer do anything with the OS. I finally found the solution on a forum, basically what they said to do was to hold down the menu button, while also holding down the middle select button (the button you use to choose songs). I did this for about 20 seconds when the ipod did a hard reboot, and my ipod was fixed no problem.
